Adhesive Application Robot

Our customer needed a solution for gluing and assembling components. Three different types of parts are fed into the robot cell on three identical conveyors, where they are individually handled by a pick and place robot. The robot tool picks up each part and places it at the assembly position in a programmed sequence. Here, a second SCARA robot applies two component adhesive and, in perfect coordination with the first robot, assembles the three glued parts into a single unit. The finished unit is placed on a conveyor that transports it out of the robot cell, and the process then starts over. The robot cell is surrounded by a safety enclosure constructed from aluminium profiles.

Magnet Assembly

This robot cell is designed to assemble magnets into a magnetic coupling. The parts are placed on a pallet, which is then transported into the robot cell by a pallet conveyor. Inside the cell, a robot installs the magnets, which are individually dispensed from a magazine. During this process, the magnet is separated from the plastic spacer. The entire robot cell is built on a robust height-adjustable frame.

Rack Assembly

This special purpose machine assembles rack units, each with a rubber strip bonded to the backside using UV adhesive. The 200 mm rack units are placed on a conveyor that feeds them into the machine, where they are joined into one continuous piece with the rubber strip applied along the back. After joining, the racks are cut to the required lengths and finally mounted into an aluminium profile.

Gluing Machine

This machine bonds two components using hot melt adhesive with a cycle time of 12,000 parts per minute. The lids are placed three at a time on a servo-indexed conveyor, which transports them to a gluing station where hot melt adhesive is applied. This process is monitored by a vision camera. In the next step, paper discs are placed onto the adhesive, and this process is also monitored by a vision camera. Finally, the finished parts are stacked onto a conveyor for subsequent packaging.

Assembly and Leak Testing

In this assembly machine, all components for the assembly process are manually loaded. The components are placed on a rotary indexing table and consist of two parts that must be screwed together, along with five O-rings.

Once the table indexes, an O-ring is automatically mounted onto one of the parts using a dedicated assembly tool, and a vision system checks that it has been placed correctly. A robot then positions the mating part, and a screwdriving system fastens the two elements together. After assembly, the part is transferred to a leak tester where it is tested for leaks. The fully assembled and tested part is then placed back in the rotary table and returned to the operator.

Flying Cut

This machine is designed to mount a rubber strip onto a rolled aluminium profile while the profile is being formed in a roll-forming machine. From a supply box, a rubber profile is fed forward for assembly onto the aluminium profile during the forming process.
